Welcome to Swahili Bible site! Swahili, also known as Kiswahili, is a Bantu language and the first language of the Swahili people. It is a lingua franca of the African Great Lakes region and other parts of eastern and southeastern Africa, including Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is estimated that around 15 Million users speak it. The New Testament was first translated into Swahili around 1850. United Bible Societies is working towards making this Bible available to all who need it.

1AYINA omugisa omuntu atagenda omu kuhanura kwababi,
Nobukwakuba okweme’ra omu muhanda ogwabasisi,
Nobukwakuba okuika’raha ntebe yabanyakugay,
2Baitu ebiragiro bya MUKAMA nibyo bimusemeza;
Nomu biragirobye numwo atekerza nyamusana nekiro.
3Kandi arasisanaga nkomuti
Ogunyakubyairwe ha byambu byamaizi,
Ogwana ebyana byagwo omu mwaka gwagwo,
Namababi gagwo tigahotoka:
Nekyarakoraga kyona arakiherwaga omugisa.
4Ababi tibasisasana bati;
Baitu bali nkebisunga embeho ebizitwara.
5Nikyo ababi batalyemer’ra omu musango,
Nobubakuba abasisi omu kuso’rokana okwabahikirire.
6baitu MUKAMA amanyire omuhanda ogwabahikirire:
Baitu omuhanda ogwababi gulibura.
