Welcome to Swahili Bible site! Swahili, also known as Kiswahili, is a Bantu language and the first language of the Swahili people. It is a lingua franca of the African Great Lakes region and other parts of eastern and southeastern Africa, including Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is estimated that around 15 Million users speak it. The New Testament was first translated into Swahili around 1850. United Bible Societies is working towards making this Bible available to all who need it.

1Nio lwanyuma, Bilidadi abe uwaama i Shuwa elamo nga aloma ari:
2Wele ali uwe kamaani, naluundi buli mutweela ali ni khuumurya;
niye waaliinda buyiinga bweewe bwe mwikulu mu lukoosi.
3Naanu unyala waabala abo babaali mu liye lyeewe?
Iliwo shiifwo shoosi mweesi buwaanga bwa Wele bukhakhosa ta?
4Ni nashiryo umuundu anyala aryeena waaba umukhosefu mu moni tsya Wele?
Umuundu yeesi isi basaala busa, anyala aryeena waalekha khuubakho ni kumusaango ta?
5Isi Wele, ikhaba kumweesi abona ari sikwaaburukha kwakhosa ni kamaani ta;
ikhaba tsinieniesi setsili busa akhali kumusaango ta.
6Ne aba umuundu, uuli busa nga inyeende,
uuli busa nga khawuukha, aba kane abe aryeena?
